Meeting What Calls You Through the Four Sacred Portals
Enter a sacred pause for renewal and resilience
We are living in a time of complexity, division, and constant demand on our attention. You may be pulled to respond—to speak, to act, to contribute—yet lack a place to pause long enough to listen for the questions that will guide you towards what is yours to do.
This retreat is for those who sense that the urgency of this time is calling for a more integrated way of showing up. It is for people ready to deepen their personal and professional presence in order to grow their capacity to hold ground and respond with authentic attunement amid complexity.
Grounded in Roxanne Howe-Murphy’s new work, this 3-day retreat invites you to journey through the Four Sacred Portals™—not as an escape from the world, but as a way to meet it with greater clarity, steadiness, and courage. This retreat is a response to a moment that is ours to meet.
Join us for this rare opportunity to gather in person at Mabel Dodge Luhan House in beautiful Taos, New Mexico. Through deep practice and heartfelt community, you’ll be supported in releasing old patterns, opening to presence, and growing your capacity for love and life-affirming engagement.
The learning experience includes:
Deep dive into the Four Sacred Portals of EnneaCrossings™, a powerful map that emerged from the Enneagram and points toward how to remember our fundamental wholeness.
Embody greater resilience and presence to release limiting patterns and access an inner source of power.
Receive support to attune to your true calling, connect with your unique gifts, and explore what is truly yours to do.
Experience practices for engaged presence, that allow you to respond rather than react to life's unfolding and amplify your impact.
Be held in a connected learning community where deep listening, kindness, and shared insights support growth and connection.
This retreat is designed for:
Leaders who sense the limits of reactivity and are seeking a deeper, steadier way of engaging, one rooted in wholeness rather than urgency, clarity rather than control.
Those in healing and service-oriented professions; social justice activists, coaches, therapists, spiritual directors and educators.
Anyone who is ready to deepen their relationship with themselves and grow their capacity to meet the challenges of this time.

“This was an incredibly heart-centered experience … Once you're in it, you recognize that there's a whole other capacity that you have access to through your heart. And I think that Deep Living has this amazing ability to create an experience that gets you there.” -Amy T.
“One of the surprising things I learned is in our spiritual work, we talk about the oneness of the universe, that we're all connected. In a group like this, I think it moves from a concept to the actual felt experience.” Samuel S.
“A lot of the retreat activities are meant to just be in the moment with yourself and check in with yourself. And sometimes you don't have words yet. This is a really gracious space … to start to inquire, ‘what does it feel like to check in with yourself? How do you re-get to know yourself?" Julie V.
ABOUT TAOS
Set in the high desert of northern New Mexico and held by the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Taos is a place where land, culture, and creativity meet. Ancient and living, the town invites you into a slower rhythm—one that offers space to explore, integrate, and be nourished by wide skies, layered history, and a vibrant artistic spirit. Taos meets you gently, and often remains with you long after you’ve gone.
ABOUT THE Mabel dodge luhan house
Steeped in history and faithful to its original adobe architecture, the Mabel Dodge Luhan House has been a gathering place for artists, thinkers, and seekers for nearly a century. This storied home once welcomed visionaries such as Georgia O’Keeffe, D.H. Lawrence, Ansel Adams, and Martha Graham—each drawn by the land’s beauty, depth, and creative spirit. Today, the house continues this legacy as a sanctuary for learning, creativity, and meaningful connection.
Located along the border of Taos Pueblo lands, the property offers a rare sense of quiet and restoration while remaining just a ten-minute walk from the heart of Taos. Rooms and gathering spaces reflect warm adobe charm and early-century elegance, with vigas, traditional arched doorways, carved pillars, and kiva fireplaces woven throughout. A welcoming hearth, peaceful patios, and a tree-lined acequia create an atmosphere of ease and reflection. From the third-story solarium, panoramic views of Taos Mountain invite stillness, inspiration, and renewal.
Additional delights to enjoy
May in Taos offers a rare balance of activity and stillness, making it an ideal time to arrive early or linger after a retreat to wander, integrate, and be restored.
In town, galleries, museums, cafés, and shops are open and welcoming without the peak-season crowds. Farmers markets begin to reemerge, patios come to life, and there is a palpable sense of transition—an in-between season that invites both exploration and inward listening. Visitors can spend unhurried hours at the Harwood Museum of Art or the Taos Art Museum, explore working studios, and experience the distinctive blend of Native, Hispanic, and Anglo influences reflected in the town’s architecture, cuisine, and rhythm of life. A visit to Taos Pueblo—a multi-story adobe village continuously inhabited by Indigenous people for centuries and designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site—offers a powerful connection to the region’s enduring cultural roots.
Beyond town, the surrounding landscape opens into spaciousness and renewal. Mountain trails invite hiking and biking, the Rio Grande Gorge offers dramatic vistas and contemplative walks, and nearby hot springs provide opportunities for deep rest and restoration. Vast skies and ever-changing light create moments of quiet wonder, while local cafés, small shops, and seasonal markets encourage lingering and meaningful connection.

GENERAL Retreat Questions
What will the retreat be like?
Like all of our offerings, we design the experience to return you to your direct felt experience. Sessions will be interactive and engaging to honor different learning styles. There will be a combination of reflective inquiry, large group content, intimate reflections, and practices to ground into our bodies and hearts. Opportunities to connect with yourself, community, nature, and the unfolding alchemy of the group are woven into the retreat.
Is this a relaxing weekend or one of inner exploration?
This weekend will be one of inner exploration as we find new spaces within ourselves and invite a deeper level of presence. As we experience deeper levels of presence, inner tension melts away and we naturally feel more relaxed.
What holding space will there be at the retreat?
Deep Living Lab's offerings are known for creating supportive conditions to go deeper within ourselves and honor our inner processes. Together we will explore intimate places within ourselves and discover deeper truths within our being. Open sharing, deep listening, and a real sense of mutuality will support deepening into greater heart presence.
Is there financial assistance available for this retreat?
We offer a limited number of financial access scholarships for this retreat to support participants for whom the full cost would be a barrier. The intention is to reduce financial strain so that cost alone does not determine who can attend.
There is no need to provide proof of income or personal financial details. We trust applicants to assess their own financial capacity honestly. Apply here.
Do I need to attend all sessions? How much personal time will I have during the weekend?
Attendance at all sessions is important as we collectively sink deeper into the material. However, attending to your needs before, during and after sessions is highly encouraged. The preliminary schedule includes breaks and personal time for resting, walking the grounds, contemplation, journaling, integration, or whatever supports your experience.

CONTENT QUESTIONS
Do I need to know the Deep Living Approach and EnneaCrossings™?
You do not need to have conceptual background in the Deep Living approach, EnneaCrossings™, or the Four Sacred Portals™. Our offerings are designed to meet each participant where they are at.
What is the Enneagram? Do I need to have experience with it before this retreat?
The Enneagram is a revealing map of the human condition that offers self-awareness and a more complete understanding of how different people approach life. At Deep Living Lab, we use this wisdom to explore a pathway to our individual and collective healing. Although the retreat is not focused on the Enneagram, having a foundation in it may help you understand some common terms and concepts that may be mentioned. Please don’t be shy if you have questions during a session or before the retreat.
What type of belief system is reflected in this retreat?
This retreat honors all beliefs and spiritual practices. We go underneath concepts of God, love, and presence for you to directly access the truth within your essence. We believe that turning towards love starts within ourselves, continues in community practice, and radiates out in ways that are beyond measure.
